Michel Architect - Black Shadow
Michel Architect - Black Shadow
Silent. Precise. Defined by contrast.
Black on black, where form emerges through absence of light. The Michel Architect Black Shadow is pared down to its essence — a stealth presence shaped by geometry and texture. Then, a single stroke of red breaks through: the seconds hand, sharp and relentless, the line that gives time its movement. Minimal yet expressive, its architecture in motion, disciplined in design and unapologetically bold in detail.

Designer's note
Designer's note
The Architect Monochrome continues Tessé’s exploration of structure and geometry, built on the same 1970s-inspired case that balances tonneau curves with cushion strength. Its form is architectural, disciplined, and unmistakably Tessé.
Where the other Architect models express themselves through bold color, the Shadow turns to restraint. The dial is an interplay of layered surfaces and textures — matte against brushed, light against dark — designed to reveal depth not through pigment, but through shadow itself.
At the center, a single vivid red seconds hand cuts across the monochrome dial. It’s a deliberate contrast: the lifeline of motion within an otherwise silent composition. Every tick is a precise line of definition, drawing focus to the passing of time.
The absence of lume keeps the Monochrome pure, minimal, and uncompromising in its graphic presence. Instead of glowing blocks, it relies on the sculpted architecture of the dial to play with light, creating a dynamic façade that shifts with every angle.
Powering the Monochrome is the ETA 2892 in elaborate grade, chosen for its slim profile, refined finishing, and enduring precision. Its technical reliability ensures that the focus remains on the architecture of the design.
With the Architect Monochrome Series, Tessé distills the collection to its most essential form: architecture stripped to silence, defined by contrast, and animated by a single stroke of red.

Defined by Contrast
Every detail of the Architect Monocrhome series is driven by restraint — from its monochrome dial and colour matching case to the interplay of textures that reveal depth through light and absence. At its center, a single red seconds hand slices through the darkness, a deliberate stroke of motion within stillness. Housed in the Michel's 70s-inspired case, it is architecture reduced to essence: bold, minimal, and precise. More than a watch, it’s a study in shadow — built to endure, define, and captivate.
Housed in a stainless steel case that measures 40mm across and a sleek 10.8mm in thickness, the Architect wears with refined comfort and presence. Its geometry — balanced between tonneau and cushion — reflects Tessé’s 1970s design inspiration, while alternating brushed and polished surfaces catch light across every angle. A double-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating ensures clarity and durability, protecting the layered dial within. The result is a timepiece that feels architectural yet versatile, equally at home in bold color or in the minimalist restraint of the Michel Architect Monochrome series.
At the heart of the Architect is the ETA 2892-A2 in Elaboré grade — a Swiss automatic calibre celebrated for its slim profile and enduring reliability. Ticking at 28,800 bph (4Hz), it features 21 jewels and a 50-hour power reserve, balancing technical precision with refined finishing. The movement’s elegance is revealed through the oversized sapphire caseback, where its decoration can be admired alongside Tessé’s custom-engraved movement holder — a detail that anchors the watch’s architectural identity.
Blending 1970s-inspired geometry with contemporary detail, the Architect embodies Tessé’s vision of design-led watchmaking. Its layered dial construction, precise Swiss movement, and refined casework showcase a balance of structure and creativity — a modern expression of timeless craftsmanship.
Each Architect Monochrome comes with a matching cut-to-size rubber strap, with snap-on butterfly clasp.

Oracle Time
Read moreThe dial is one of the most inventive microbrand options I’ve seen for a while. It’s surprisingly simple in execution but the results are stunning.

Straps & Co
Read MoreThe case finishing is exceptional for the price point. The brushed surfaces feel premium and give it a modern, almost integrated-bracelet aesthetic when paired with straight-end straps.
Eric: The Michel fits as a great daily wearer that is different to look at and can be worn casually and with more dress attire. I found myself looking at my wrist as much as the road on the drive home. The other thing that shocked me are the specs of the watch for the price. You are making fantastic watches and I wish you great success.
Customer: The Michel GMT I bought from you last year in Toronto is by far my most worn watch out of my small collection.
Tim: I cannot express how excited I was to receive this amazing timepiece. Absolutely love the story behind it all! Not to mention it might be the most beautiful watch I've ever seen.
