The Vinyl Record Watch is built around a simple idea: taking a familiar object and translating its geometry into something wearable. Its circular form, inspired by the surface of a vinyl record, is immediately recognizable, while details drawn from the turntable reinforce the connection between music, movement, and time.
For this collaboration, Tessé enters that language through colour.
Rather than altering AndoAndoAndo’s original design, I wanted to introduce a palette that would give the watch a distinctly Tessé character. Electric Teal and orange were chosen for their strong contrast and their connection to the bold, graphic colours of the 1970s.
The teal becomes the dominant architectural element of the dial, while orange introduces a precise counterpoint. Together, they create a composition that is vibrant without becoming excessive, balancing the playful nature of the Vinyl Record Watch with Tessé’s more disciplined approach to colour.
The result is deliberately different from our own collections. There is no attempt to impose the Tessé aesthetic onto Ando’s design. Instead, the two languages remain distinct: AndoAndoAndo’s playful interpretation of the vinyl record, expressed through Tessé’s colour.
It is a collaboration built not by combining everything, but by identifying the one element that could connect both worlds.
The form remains Ando. The colour becomes Tessé.
